Problem
Taking into account that more legislative acts on data processing are becoming active, companies need to process personal data requests quickly in order to comply with these regulations and avoid fines if they fail to fulfill the requirements indicated in these laws. While our clients are dealing with data processing and helping other businesses comply with customer data protection, they decided to create a solution that could be integrated into any Salesforce instance as an unmanaged package and customized according to the customer need to automate this process and they started the development. Since the time conditions were pressing, it was important for the product to release within the shortest period of time and it appeared that the client’s contractors could not satisfy all of the client’s requirements, so we took the project over and reworked the flaws and deliver the solution with clean code and clear logic.

Solution
It was decided to develop the AppExhange application to allow companies to enable their customers to opt-out from the gathering of personal data and to let them request all their personal information that is stored by the company. Customers can even delete it after identity verifications and data exporting is automated. This program also manages client requests by routing and escalation rule execution.

Impact
The application was released on the AppExchange platform. Taking into account that governments are starting to treat the online security of personal data more seriously, the US and EU are passing new regulations, thus the demand for the applications that allow automating these processes will be increasing in the near future.
